Each hexagonal pencil is extra thick, measuring 0.9 cm across.

These are rare pencils dating from the 1880s, produced by the McCorquodale company owned by George McCorquodale and set up in 1846 to provide stationery and office sundries for the burgeoning railway industry.

Each pencil is as new and 17.6 cm in length.
